UFC Pres. Dana White says he spoke to Colosseum officials about hosting Zuck-Musk fight in Rome — claims Elon isn't backing down

UFC President Dana White claims he spoke to Italy's minister of culture about hosting the potential Elon Musk versus Mark Zuckerberg mixed martial arts fight at the historic Colosseum in Rome, claiming the event could generate over $1 billion in revenue.

During an appearance on Mike Tyson's "Hotboxin'" podcast, White said that he spoke to officials in Italy about the potential of bringing the Musk-Zuckerberg fight to Rome.

TMZ had previously stated that there was reportedly "no formal contact" between the White and the Italian side, but some sort of conversation had occurred.

White told boxing legend Tyson, however, that he "actually did have a meeting with the Minister of Culture's team in Italy to actually hold that fight in the Colosseum if it would happen."

"We're talking," he added.

"Think about how big that fight is — two of the richest, most powerful guys in the f**king world are gonna fight on the biggest stage ever," White said. "Who the f**k doesn't wanna see that fight? ... That's the kind of fight your f**king grandmother would watch," the promoter exclaimed.

White's remarks came just days after Musk self-reported that he may need surgery on his back and neck region before he fights.

"Exact date is still in flux. I’m getting an MRI of my neck & upper back tomorrow. May require surgery before the fight can happen. Will know this week," Musk wrote on Twitter.

The billionaire had previously spoken in 2022 about injuring discs in his back while battling a sumo wrestler.

"Managed to throw him, but it cost me smashing my c5-c6 disc & 8 years of mega back pain! Finally fixed with c5-c6 disc fusion."

As rumors began to swirl about a great retreat by the Twitter/X owner, the UFC president seemed to squash those rumors during a recent press conference at a Power Slap event, one of White's more curious combat promotions: "Is Elon ducking?" White asked in confirmation of a reporter's question. "No. You're talking about two of the richest, most powerful guys in the world. You're talking about a couple of eccentric billionaires," he explained.

"If you look at what it takes to put a fight together between two professional fighters, who do it for a living ... nobody's ducking anybody," he added.

As for Zuckerberg, the Meta owner recently shared his massive McDonald's order that he's been scarfing down in order to keep weight on during training:

"20 nuggets, a quarter pounder, large fries, Oreo McFlurry, apple pie, and maybe some side cheeseburgers for later?" the social media guru said.

Not everyone is supportive of the fight, however. UFC legend Nate Diaz recently stated that he thought the billionaires should get along.

"I don't think they should fight, I think they should be nice to each other," Diaz said. "They should do something with fighting, but they don't need to be fighting."
