Glenn Beck celebrates #GirlDad in honor of Kobe Bryant's love for his daughters

As the world continues to mourn the tragic deaths of NBA legend Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, dads everywhere are paying tribute to Bryant, the father of four girls, by using #girldad to share stories of their own love for their daughters.

After the basketball superstar and his daughter, along with seven others, were killed in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, Sunday, ESPN's Elle Duncan started the #girldad trend when she shared a story about meeting Bryant and learning how much he loved his own daughters on ESPN's "SportsCenter" Monday night.

"Girls are amazing," Bryant told Duncan in the ESPN report. "I would have five more girls if I could — I'm a girl dad."

On "The Glenn Beck Radio Program" Wednesday, Glenn talked about the many lessons to be learned from the Bryant family tragedy, even for non-sport fans like himself.

Bryant always strove for excellence, and not just on the court but in his family life as well, Glenn said. Through this terrible tragedy, we are reminded never to take life for granted and to be a better parent, he added.
