A video of men marching against “gendered violence” has gone viral, not for the cause — but because the men were all marching in red high heels.
Jason Whitlock and Shemeka Michelle aren’t impressed.
“It’s very hard for me to take these men seriously, considering I don’t see any of them on the front line when it comes to having men in female sports. So, all I see right now are a bunch of beta males, a bunch of men who have always desired to put on their mothers' or wives' shoes and just be feminine,” Michelle tells Whitlock.
According to Michelle, the “fight that is really harming women” are men taking over women’s spaces — like men who identify as women and end up going to female prisons.
“So these men coming out here, they really just wanted to stuff their big Ken feet into Barbie’s slippers to fulfill some type of fetish or fantasy that they have,” Michelle says.
“That’s the only explanation that makes sense,” Whitlock agrees.
“Clearly they have to know this means and does nothing, and that’s my whole issue with all of it,” he adds.
But, Whitlock isn’t entirely against it.
“The reason I like it is because it allows me to say, ‘No different than taking a knee during the National Anthem.’ We’re so into symbolic gestures, and the real solution here is like obedience to God, serving God, promoting a culture that’s respectful of God,” he explains.
“If we wanted to legitimately restore the culture, these same men would be calling for a revival, and calling for men to be better men,” Whitlock adds.
