Why was Kamala Harris at the DNC, not the Capitol, on January 6?
February 21, 2024
Recent video disclosures offer greater context, but clear answers remain elusive.
Over the past few weeks, Americans finally have been learning about the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a pipe bomb at the Democratic National Committee headquarters while then-Vice President-elect Kamala Harris was inside the building on January 6, 2021.
Never-before-seen videos released by U.S. Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), independent journalist Julie Kelly, and Blaze Media have provided more context about what was happening at the DNC just as the protesters began to flood the Capitol Building a couple of blocks away.

Revolver News is one of the only media outlets that has been consistently investigating and reporting this story. Darren Beattie’s viral analysis of the recently released video and emerging new details led him to proclaim that the “pipe bombs are 100% a hoax and 100% a cover-up.”
We have more context now but no clear answers. In fact, the real questions are just now being asked because of these video disclosures.
Here is what we’ve seen and what we know so far.
Julie Kelly showed us the first images of a bomb-sniffing dog at the DNC parking garage ramp at about 9:50 a.m. Then we saw the arrival of Kamala Harris’ motorcade about an hour and a half later.
I reported last month that the notification of the bomb’s discovery came from a plainclothes U.S. Capitol Police officer and the even more perplexing delayed response by Secret Service agents and other law enforcement who did not secure the area and cordon it off from pedestrian, auto, and nearby rail traffic.
Then, in our two previous Blaze Media exclusives, we showed you the prime closed-circuit TV cameras being remotely turned away from the DNC bomb investigation scene and how we found a video that shows the destruction of the pipe bomb.
But let’s talk about Kamala Harris. Both Julie Kelly and Darren Beattie have been asking all the right questions, just as CNN and Politico did in 2022.
Why was Harris not at the Capitol just as Vice President Mike Pence was gaveling the Senate into session to begin the Electoral College vote certification process?
Why did it take almost 11 minutes after the pipe bomb’s discovery for the Secret Service to evacuate Harris from the DNC building?
Why did we not learn until exactly a year later about Harris’ presence at the DNC when the bomb was discovered?
How is it possible that Harris — or any politician, for that matter — did not attempt to make political hay out of the danger she was in? In fact, more than three years later, Harris has never once publicly mentioned her presence at the DNC on January 6 or her proximity to the pipe bomb.
Politico was the first to report in November 2021 about a court filing in a January 6 defendant’s case, in which it was revealed for the first time that Harris was not at the Capitol when the riots began.
“Although the mistake may have limited legal significance, it’s an indication that even some fundamental facts about the insurrection remain murky — such as, where was the vice president-elect and why did she leave the Capitol?”
A footnote from the legal filing itself states:
In its earlier response to the defendant’s motion to dismiss, the government incorrectly stated that Vice President-Elect Harris was present in the U.S. Capitol at the time of the attack. In fact, Vice President-Elect Harris was not present at that particular time.
Politico was again first to report the actual location of Harris at the DNC headquarters on the first anniversary of January 6.
As for Harris herself, 11 days after January 6, she told the Los Angeles Times that she “was evacuated into a — as it’s called — a secure location.” In a speech she made on January 6, 2022, Harris merely said “I had left” the Capitol that morning and never mentioned her whereabouts a year earlier, the bomb, or why she wasn’t at the Capitol when the Senate was called into session by Mike Pence.
Two years later, in remarks Harris made on the third anniversary of January 6, she said: “They used brutal force and fear to try and overturn the results of a free and fair election. They tried to overrule the votes of millions of Americans.”
But she never mentioned her proximity to the DNC bomb or the danger she was subjected to by virtue of the Secret Service’s failure to find a device so conveniently placed — in the open — to be seen and found.
We’re still left to believe that the bomb sweep team and bomb dog (or dogs) never saw or sniffed the device, but a plainclothes Capitol Police officer — the one seen casually and slowly notifying Secret Service agents and Metro Police officers — found the device as he was strolling by, 13 minutes after the first barricade breach at the Capitol.
Why has Harris never mentioned her whereabouts at the DNC when the pipe bomb was discovered?
Is she trying to avoid embarrassing the Secret Service for their egregious security failure in missing the bomb during their advance sweep of the DNC? Is she avoiding embarrassing the FBI for its three-year failure in breaking the case and discovering who planted the bombs? Or does Harris herself have something to hide about why she was at the DNC offices in the first place?
And why, after over two years since we’ve known Harris was in the DNC headquarters when the bomb was discovered, has she never been questioned about that experience in any press interview or press conference?
Why hasn’t the press ever asked Harris about what it felt like to be so near a bomb, in potentially imminent danger, or possibly even the target of an assassination attempt?
What are Harris and a complicit D.C. media hiding from us? What narrative are they protecting?
Harris once said of January 6: “It was horrific, horrific. And each day after, we are learning more and more about the deep and very dark layers of what went into that day.”
Indeed we are, Madam Vice President. Indeed we are.
